Complex systems have been evolving through the time and space of basic sciences, which were applied under various circumstances, thus generating new lines of work and knowledge.

Starting from the Natural Sciences, the systems arise with Genetics, Mendel’s laws and, Heredity; it opens a great part of the waters in History, by investigating in the world of the very small the components that makeup, the combinations of them until reaching the DNA; “What makes us equal, but different from everyone”.

The best application to the General Theory of Systems that there is that of Nature; understanding and decoding it, to generate algorithms to capture its essence, has led to the development of new technologies.

Paleo-climatic models to understand the ice age; the search for the crater whose meteorite causes the extinction of the dinosaurs, and determine the layer of dust that exists throughout the world at the same depth, thus dating the exact date of the event.

The rapid advance of some sciences at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century generated new lines of work, areas of opportunity; for example, The Laws of James Clark Maxwell whose unification of electricity and magnetism, bases the use of wireless communications; radar, sonar, radio transmissions and, message encoding were applied during the Second World War; mathematicians provide the algorithms to decipher keys on both fronts; emerging electronics and a new application of logic to two elements; the One and the Zero

New mathematics begins, logical operators, represented in electric bulbs simulating their behavior, generating truth tables, improving the first computers, reducing their response time, data storage, combining it with Statistics to treat the data, visualizing, recognizing patterns, and analyzing their behavior at a given moment.

The use of multivariates for a mathematical model, indicating their inputs, correlations, times, conditions, and outputs, was part of the investigations.

Little by little, they integrated the system of serial and parallel connections; simulated the functions of the brain; quantify emotions to understand it.

Artificial Intelligence, neural networks, do the same with quantum leaps in their field, integrating different sciences to better understand their work proposal.

The Theory of Chaos, Laws of Thermodynamics, Fractals, have been integrated into all this for a long time, generating their paths, theories, and laws.

All the sciences concentrated on systems development and data processing; mathematics is always behind all this.

Today, the complex systems in the Nobel prizes, a great achievement, since it opens a door to many more options for collaboration, do not surprise us that soon the distributive software will also appear as part of a winning team, for which I remember the phrase that I always propose “Everything is Connected”, where the complexity shows it with bases … simple and clear.

Congratulations to the winners!
